CDM Wins Prestigious Grand Award from American Academy of Environmental Engineers for Former PEC Industries Site Using WILCLEAR® Potassium Lactate with Hydraulic Control.
CDM was recently awarded the prestigious Grand Award in the Small Products category for the 2009 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Awards from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers for their remediation project at the former PEC Industries site near the tourism district in Orlando, FL. Their primary objectives were hydraulic control using conventional groundwater extraction and source zone treatment using enhanced anaerobic bioremediation. CDM elected to use WILCLEAR® potassium lactate as their substrate.
The application of WILCLEAR® potassium lactate was able to provide successful substrate distribution. Analytical results indicate contaminant mass removal with contaminant reduction of greater than 90% since the start of enhanced anaerobic dechlorination.
Further information can be obtained from Shawn Turner at CDM’s Maitland, Florida office.
