Dehalococcoides ethenogenes strain 195 uses only H2 as an electron donor and chlorinated compounds as electron acceptors to support growth. In culture, it also requires acetate, vitamin B12, and extracts of mixed microbial cultures as nutrients (Seshadri et al. 2005 Genome Sequence of the PCE-Dechlorinating Bacterium Dehalococcoides ethenogenes, Science, vol 307, pg. 105-108).

MICROCOSM STUDY RESULTS  

 

Wilclear Plus® demonstrated faster dechlorination kinetics than other substrates.

At 25 days, the Wilclear Plus® microcosm converted more than 99% of PCE to ethene.

HANDLING
  • Store unopened under dry conditions at temperatures between 35°F and 85°F.
  • Shelf life of unopened product is 1 year
  • Diluted product should be used within 5 days to avoid microbial growth and activity which may cause gas buildups in containers and visible growth which may foul equipment.
  • Following injection of material, wells should be flushed with clean water to prevent microbial growth.
  • Equipment decontamination should follow site specific requirements.
